You have the urge to poop, and when you have that urge, the first thing that goes through your mind is that you must find a washroom. When you are at home, that is not a big deal. However, when you are in a public place, that becomes a challenge unless you know where a bathroom is.
However, once you find the washroom, you feel relief, and then you wipe quickly and leave the stall to wash your hands, and that is it. However, if you keep doing this after each time you poop, whether you are at home or elsewhere, you are doing it all wrong. There are six things you must do after you poop every time.
Do Not Touch Your Smartphone Until You Have Washed Your Hands
When you poop, you emit plenty of bacteria such as E.Coli, and you are wise to keep your smartphones far away from you when you are going to the bathroom. The one thing that many people do not do is leave their smartphone behind in another room when they have the urge to go to the bathroom. However, if you brought your smartphone as you use the toilet, and put it down on the sink counter, don’t touch it again until you wash your hands.
Sanitize Your Smartphone
If you are like most people who brought the smartphone to the washroom while doing your business, you must realize that there is plenty of bacteria on the smartphone from you pooping. The thing to do is to sanitize your smartphone after you wipe with an antibacterial wipe. That way, you will keep the phone clean even though you needed to bring it to the bathroom with you.
Wiping Front To Back (If You Are A Woman)
If you are a man, you are lucky to wipe your bum after you poop in any direction you want. However, if you are a woman, you will want to wipe front to back so you don’t end up with urinary tract infections or yeast infections, which are distressing. And always make it a habit of doing that so you can stay healthy.
Be Gentle When You Wipe
If you don’t wipe your bum gently after you poop, you will end up with fissures, which can cause pain and uncontrollable bleeding. That will cause you to bleed through your underwear, and you don’t want to do that. Besides, if you have a fissure, you may be in so much pain that you will dread the next time you have to poop. So if you wipe gently, then you will not likely end up with a fissure.
Record When You Pooped
How regular are you? If you have no idea, then it is time to start recording how many times you go in a week. If you poop daily, you will want to know how many times you poop in a day. Therefore, you don’t want to play the guessing game each time your doctor asks you how many times you have a bowel movement a day. Your doctor needs to know how often you poop as that can be indicative of your health.
Oh, and when you record each time you poop, make sure you don’t do that after you poop. Wait until you are cleaned up and in another room to do that.
Take A Good Look At Your Poop
After you relieve yourself, you may not want to look at your job (or maybe you do as some people are interested). However, you will want to change your perspective if you are the type to hide away from your poop. To know how your general health is, then you will want to look at your poop.
If your poop is brown to green and sinks to the bottom of the toilet, it is healthy. And remember that what you eat can also determine the color of the poop. At times you may have some undigested food in it as well. Once in a while, it is not a concern.
However, if your poop is often black and tar-like in appearance, then it is a concern as you may have an ulcer or colon cancer. The same goes if it appears bloody. If your poop is yellow or pale, then it can indicate a liver or pancreatic problem. If your poop often floats, then there is gas associated with it, which can be due to digestive issues. If an odd odor makes it smell worse than it usually does, then that indicates a health issue. Therefore, examine your poop after you do your business.
And of course, don’t forget to put the lid down when you flush to minimize the bacteria-filled toilet plume that would contaminate your bathroom. And when you wash your hands, make sure you scrub your hands for 20 seconds with soap and water.
